No-Logs VPN: What the Claim Actually Means
A true no-logs policy means the provider doesn't record your browsing history, connection timestamps, IP addresses, or bandwidth usage.
Why the claim alone isn't enough
Anyone can write "we don't log" in a privacy policy. What separates a credible claim from marketing is an independent third-party audit and RAM-only server infrastructure that makes retaining logs technically difficult.
What to look for
- A recent, published audit report from a named security firm
- RAM-only ("diskless") servers
- A jurisdiction outside intelligence-sharing alliances, for the most privacy-sensitive use cases
See our no-logs VPN roundup for providers that meet this bar.
